The Book of Ruth-A Story of Love and Redemption

Deborah H. Bateman, author of The Book of Ruth-A Story of Love and Redemption

Deborah, tell us a bit about you and your journey.
I started writing my blog Daily-Bible-Reading about a year ago. That is where The Book of Ruth was born. I do a daily Bible Study from different books of the Bible or on different subjects. It is at http://www.daily-bible-reading.com I invite you to join us for the Daily Devotions.

What is the title of the book you’ll be speaking about today?
The Book of Ruth-A Story of Love and Redemption

Please share with us a synopsis of your book.
It is a Daily-Bible-Reading Study of The Book of Ruth from the Bible.

What inspired you to write this book?
I like studying the Bible and sharing it with others. The Book of Ruth is a love story, but it also is a great picture of how God directs our paths and how he provides for us.

Who is the ideal reader for your book?
Because it is a Bible Study the ideal reader would be a Christian, though that is not required.

What advice can you offer to authors wanting to write their first or next book?
Make sure you are passionate about whatever you choose to write about. There will be days you won’t feel like writing. If you are passionate about it, you will do it anyway! Set aside a certain amount of time each day that you plan to write. This will help you develop a habit of writing.

What advice can you offer to authors wanting to sell more books?
Build a platform for your book by connecting with different groups on Facebook, Twitter, Linked and other online networks. Don’t limit you outreach to those online, but also share the news of your book to friends, family, etc.  Get the word out about your book any way you can.

What book has inspired you most on your success journey and what about this book inspired you?
The Bible is the book that inspires me most. I love reading it. The stories in the Bible are so varied and the life lessons are so valuable. The inspiration I get from reading and “Sharing God’s Word” is what keeps me going.

Are you currently writing your next book? What can you tell us about it?
The next book I plan to publish is The Book of Esther. Esther is also a book from the Bible. It, like The Book of Ruth is a love story. God’s providence is prevalent in The Book of Esther. I love reading about how He works things out in our lives.

Do you have a program or product available to help authors in any phase of the writing, publishing, or marketing of their books?
If so, please tell us about it. I recently started my author website. I will be publishing tips for writing, publishing, and marketing books and eBooks on that site. I will also be sharing articles from experts in those fields. I will highlight new books as they are published on these subjects of fellow friends and authors also. The website is Deborah H. Bateman-Author at http://www.deborahhbateman.com

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Yes, the Book Launch for The Book of Ruth-A Story of Love and Redemption is scheduled for November 15, 2011. I will have many friends and fellow authors from the John 3:16 Network and other groups that I am a member of who will be collaborating with me in this Book Launch. I hope to have many gifts for everyone to enjoy! I would like to invite everyone to participate in the celebration. Go ahead and mark your calendars. You will not want to miss it.
